Ola Beatrice Alexander Smith, 91, of Pulaski, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 27, 2012, having died in the Pulaski Health and Rehab Center.

She was born in Sylvatus, Va. on December 2, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Ada Lawson Alexander. She was the eldest of eight children and she was also preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Sherman G. Smith Sr. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Jessie King and Earlyne Gardner, and by one brother, Clinton Alexander.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Paul Barnard, of Vinton; son and daughter-in-law, Sherman (Shermie) G. Smith Jr. and Kathy, of Pulaski; two granddaughters and husband, Ginger and David Davis, Crystal and Paul Lineburg; three great-granddaughters, Taylor Davis, Fallon Davis, and Lucy Lineburg; three sisters Belva Smith, Bonnie Kemp, and Kate Trail; brother Maven Alexander;' and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. from Memorial Baptist Church, Pulaski, with the Rev. David Lones officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Sunday evening December 30 2012, from Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. or Monday from the church from noon until the service hour.
