"A memorial service in connection with the demise of Mrs Loasby was held at St. Andrew's Church (says Blenheim Express) on August 4. The Rev. Mr Robb remarked that deceased, who had attained to a great age, had possessed a wonderful memory, being able to recollect passages of sermons heard perhaps fifty years ago. The deceased lady, who came out to Nelson in 1844, had taken delight in recounting reminiscences of the saintly Chayne, the Bonnors, and other great Scottish pulpiteers; and also of the stirring predisruption days in Scotland."

Marlborough Express, Volume XLI, Issue 181, 2 August 1907, Page 5
