Abram Isaac & Susan Demarest Satterlee, the older brother, Emmett Jay, sister Emogene S., and John Abram (2.5 yrs.) to Vandalia, Missouri.

Abram Isaac Satterlee & wife, Susan Frances (Demarest), with her father, left Greenville, Mich., sometime between l865 & l866 with their 4 oldest children and settled for a time in New Michigan- (later called Indian Creek, Quiver Township, Audrian Co. Missouri.
Later they lived for a time in Vandalia, Missouri. From there the family went to Ulysses, Grant Co., Kan., where "Abe" took up a homestead, which became their oldest daughter‘s farm, Mrs. Edward F. Towler, adjoining the Joyce family homestead on the old Cimmaron Trail.
