OELWEIN, Iowa – Donald L. Adams, 87, of Oelwein, Iowa, died Dec. 18, 2012 in Iowa City, Iowa of natural causes. Parents were Walter and Viola (Carpenter) Adams. First wife, Beverly, died in 1985. Worked 31 years for Allied Vans.

Survived by his life partner, Brigid Campbell of Oelwein; a son, Donald Adams of Arvada, Colo.; a daughter, Judy Bear of Oelwein; two brothers, Bill Adams of DeKalb, Ill., and Harvey Adams of Pryor, Okla.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded by his wife, Beverly; a brother, Walter; two sisters, Hazel and Daisy; and a son, Terry Adams.

Services at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 21 at Geilenfeld Funeral Chapel in Oelwein with Rev. Charis Combs-Lay officiating. There will also be a 1 p.m. service at the Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb on Saturday. There will be a time to socialize immediately following the service at Geilenfeld Funeral Home on Friday. Burial at Fairview Cemetery in DeKalb. A memorial fund has been established in Donald's name..
