He was born in Chicago Illinois on April 29th, 1949 to the late Donald and Beverly Adams. Don attended high school in Dekalb Ill where he graduated in 1967.
He was proud to have served in the US Army First Cavalry Division during the Vietnam war from 1968 to 1970 as an infantryman where he received a Bronze Star and 2 Purple Hearts. After serving he worked as a truck driver for many years for Allied Trucking and Weyerhaeuser. In 1990 he graduated from Colorado Aerotech and became an Airline Mechanic for United Airlines. He retired in 2011.
Don enjoyed classic cars including his own 55 Chevy and his 1966 Chevelle. Hot August Nights in Reno Nevada was something he and his wife, Donna went to yearly. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and collecting memorabilia, taking the RV to Lake Havasu for the winter with Donna and his dog, Frankie Sue. He loved spending time with his friends and family and was always willing to lend a hand whenever it was needed.
Don is survived by his wife, Donna, who were together for 42 yrs; his sister, Judy; his cousin, John, who he considered his brother; his six children, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
