D. Stanton ‘Stan’ Querry

Owner of Querry’s Sanitation Service D. Stanton “Stan” Querry, 83, of 16921 Hill Valley Road, Mount Union, went to be with the Lord at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, in Tyrone.

Born June 16, 1931, in Calvin, he was a son of the late Hayes and Pauline (Cornelius) Querry. He was united in marriage to the former Barbara Bard June 11, 1960, in Mill Creek Hollow. His wife preceded him in death Aug. 18, 2003.

Mr. Querry is survived by a daughter, Tammy (Querry) McKnight and husband, Freddie, Shirleysburg and a granddaughter, Ashley Foor, also of Shirleysburg.

He is also survived by his siblings, Wayne Querry and wife, Beverly, Mount Union, and Evan Querry and Shirley Cobaugh and husband, Melvin, all of Elizabethtown.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Doyle Querry, Mary Zeigler, Aubrey Querry and Arlene Querry.

Mr. Querry attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Mount Union, where he was a loyal member of the church choir.He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Querry was a 1949 graduate of Mount Union High School.

He loved to drive trucks and had driven for the former Hom-Taste Bakery in Mount Union and the former Wible’s Bottling Works, Three Springs. In July 1979, he and his wife purchased Querry’ s Sanitation Service.

Mr . Querry loved to watch sports, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates in baseball season and the Penn State Nittany Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers during football season.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Mount Union, with the Rev. Steve Motter officiating. Interment will be made in the Mount Union Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 2, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Querry may be made to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Attn. treasurer, 217 S. Washington St., Mount Union, PA 17066; or Gideons International of Huntingdon County, P.O. Box 222, Orbisonia, PA 17243.
