Bertha Koops, 87, died Sept. 19 in a Bellflower, Ca. hospital. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sept. 21 at the DeYoung-Artesia Mortuary Chapel, Artesia, Ca. The Rev. C. Van De Hoef officiated. Burial was in the Artesia cemetary.
Mrs. Koops, the former Bertha Zeutenhorst, was born Jan. 15. 1897 in Sioux Center. She married William Koops Nov. 19, 1917 in Sioux Center, and they made their home there until moving to Artesia in 1954. Her husband died in 1965. Mrs. Koops had been a resident of the Chr. Home for the Aged and Convalescent Home in Artesia for 11 years. She was a member of the Bethel Reformed Church in Bellflower.
Survivors include 6 sons and 1 daughter: Bernard of Sioux Center, Herman of Lakewood, Ca., James of Hudsonville, Mi., Mrs. Harold (Jeanette) Moret, Corona, Ca., Kenneth and Willard, both of Bellflower and Harold of Lakewood, Ca.; a sister, Mrs. Everett (Cora) Van Binsbergen of Montevideo and a brother, John Zeutenhorst of Sioux Center. Also 29 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by 1 grandchild, four brothers and a sister.
