Clara Mary "Mick" Vogel, 91, of Greenwood, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Hoffman Estates.
She was born June 12, 1918, in Richmond, to the late Leon H. and Alice (Masters) VanEvery.
She married Harold "Hud" Vogel on April 25, 1936, in Yorkville; he died Dec. 4, 1977.
She was a graduate of Richmond High School in 1935. She was a homemaker and member of the McHenry County Historical Society and was instrumental in founding the quilt program.
She was a former member of Greenwood Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Van (Penny) Vogel of Wonder Lake; a granddaughter, Katie and many nieces and nephews, especially Lynda Dammeir Bishop and Marsha VanEvery Olson.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Vogel, exactly 35 years ago; three sisters, Wanda Todd, Dorothy "Dot" Dammeir, and Frances "Jane" Lavendowski; and two brothers, Maxwell "Dick" and Allan "Tag" VanEvery.
The visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home, 10011 Main St., Richmond. The Rev. Greg Lucas will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be mafde to McHenryu County Historical Society, Box 434, Union, IL 60180; Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 651 W. Washington, Chicago, IL 60661
