Michael J. Fleming who has been a great sufferer for the last two months passed away at his home in this city Wednesday June 13, 1917. He was born in Flemington, New Jersey, May 11, 1850 and came to Wisconsin with his parents and located in Seymour when three years old. On the 25th of April 1876 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Jane McDevitt whose home was at Mt Pleasant, Penn. They engaged in farming in Seymour where the greater part of their lives were spent.
Six children blessed this union. Their only daughter passed away in infancy leaving them a family of five sons all of whom were home at the time of his death. The eldest son, John is located at Fordyce, Neb., William, at Canistota, S.D., Michael in Seymour, James at Benton, and Thomas of our city. he leaves an aged mother, Mrs. John Fleming Sr., three brothers and six sisters and sixteen grandchildren.
The funeral services were held at the St. Matthews Catholic church Friday morning June 15 and the remains taken to Seymour for burial.
