MRS. JOSEPH H. HUGHES
Mrs. Mary Alice Hughes, widow of Joseph H. Hughes, who resided at 160 Balmoral Avenue north, died early Sunday morning at the Mount Hamilton Hospital, in her 79th year. Mrs. Hughes, whose birthplace was in England, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Colley of Bracebridge. For the last 35 years she had made her home in Hamilton and was highly regarded by many friends. Of a quiet disposition, her chief interest centered in her home and family. Surviving are one son, Joseph H., connected with the Sawyer-Massey Limited, this city; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Stevens, in Edmunton, Alberta; Mrs. Henry Marshall, city; Mrs. A.C. Peterson, in Kansas; and Mrs. Robert Barrett of Hamilton; also nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. A. Woodcock of Toronto; Mrs. E. Nelson, in Bracebridge; and Mrs. Katherine Waller of this city. The remains are resting in the drawing room of Brown Brother's Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock with interment in Woodland Cemetery.
