Funeral services for Thomas T. "Buddy" Harris, 86, of Mixon are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville, with the Rev. Mike Bowen and Steve Harris officiating.

Burial will be held in Mixon Cemetery.

Mr. Harris passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012, in Mixon.

He was born Aug. 6, 1925, in LaRue.

Mr. Harris served in the United States Navy during World War II in a construction battalion known as the Seabees, worked for East Texas Testing Labs for 19 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Bullard, member of Mount Selman Baptist Church and was a deacon at Mount Selman Baptist Church and Mixon Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Palmer Harris, on Aug. 2, 2002, whom he married Dec. 7, 1949; parents, Loftin and Alice Harris; sisters, Clementine Patterson, Elizabeth Ray, Mary Alice Adams, Bernice Ray and Sarah Leone Foster; and brother, Eugene Loftin Harris.

Survivors include daughters, Karen Moses and Jyl Zancanella, both of Troup; sons, Stan Harris of Tyler and Steve Harris of Sandwich, Mass.; brothers, L.E. "Jack" Harris, Arlin Harris and Charles "Skeeter" Harris, all of Bullard; sisters, Zane Langley of Bullard, Nellie Hathaway of New Boston and Martha Spears, of Bullard; six grandchildren, Christina Lawson, Joshua Moses, Elizabeth Harris, Catherine Harris, Victoria Harris and Thomas Harris; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin Moses, Owen Moses and Grayson Moses.

Pallbearers will be Danny Harris, Brian Harris, Tom Spears, Randy Spears, Eric Spears, Mike Harris, David Adams and Tony Foster.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.

Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
