O.V. Hall, widow of Roy Emerson Hall, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 19th in Friendswood, Texas. Born on November 6, 1921 in Castor, Louisiana, O.V. was one of twelve children of Mangrum and Mollie Mathews. O.V. & Roy met at Barksdale AFB in Bossier City, Louisiana and were happily married for 51 years.
In addition to her two loving daughters, Wanda McPhaden, husband Gordon and Barbara Herrmann, husband Robert, O.V. is survived by her loving granddaughter Joelle Jones, her four grandsons, Craig and Scott, wife Karen, McPhaden, Nathan Herrmann. wife Jennifer, and Gregory Gemelli, two great granddaughters Savannah and Sidney Jones, and three great grandsons Whitney Jones, Thomas LaGrow, and Logan McPhaden. She is also survived by her brother Dagiel Mathews and her sister Mattie Weiss.
O.V. was predeceased by her son Jerry Hall, her grandson Jerrel Hall, her brothers Dick "Bud" Mathews, J.E. Mathews, Don Mathews, and her sisters Madie Ayers, Wadie Spenser, Alice Sumner and Billie Hay.
One of the many things she loved was visiting her family in Louisiana and spending time with her grandchildren and children at Lake Livingston, Texas. She was a loving and caring Mother, grandmother and sister who always found time for her family.
The burial service will be at Little Hope Cemetery, Castor Louisiana at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 28th, 2012. Visiting Hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, the Hall family requests that you make a donation in O.V.'s name to Christian Services, P.O. Box 21, Shreveport, LA 71161-0021.
