Mrs. Ella Hardinger passed away the evening of Thursday, October 21, 1937, at a hospital in Geneva. Although Mrs. Hardinger had been in poor health for several years, her fatal illness was of only a week's duration. We regret the passing of another of Shickley's pioneer women and the sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved relatives.

Ella Holsinger, daughter of Alexander and Sarah Holsinger, was born at Foreston, Ill., January 12, 1866. She passed away at the Fillmore Hospital at Geneva, Neb.,October 21, 1937, at the age of 71 years, 9 months and 9 days.

At the age of five she moved with her parents onto a homestead southeast of Shickley.

In 1885 she was united in marriage to Samuel Hardinger of Davenport, Neb. To this union three children were born, two daughters and one son. Her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Irene Aydelott, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hardinger spent nearly all of her life in the vicinity of Shickley, except for a few years when she lived at Davenport. She joined the Methodist church shortly after moving to Shickley, where she was a faithful and active member until her health failed her.

She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Mrs. H.J. Troemper, one son, Royal, one sister, Mrs. Mart Beanblossom, four brothers, Simon, John, George, and Frank; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, also many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Richard Gibb of Harvard, Sunday afternoon at 2 at the Methodist church. Interment was in the Shickley cemetery.
