DEATH OF KING FERRY MAN WAS RATHER SUDDEN.

In only a few days, William H. Peckham, 69 years of age, undertaker for many years in King Ferry, died suddenly yesterday morning at his home at that place.

Undertaker Peckham was about his work Saturday and it was not until Sunday that he complained of being ill. Monday his condition grew worse and despite the efforts of the family physician he failed rapidly.

Mr. Peckham was one of the best known citizens of the Southwestern part of the county. He was a native of Cayuga County and spent his early days at the home of his parents at Howland's Island, taking up his residence in King Ferry when a young man. Undertaker Peckham became one of the leaders in that community. For several years he was secretary of the King Ferry Lodge of Masons and a director of the lodge's relief association.

Besides his wife, nee Miss Ella King, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank Brill and Mrs. Lamont Smith of King Ferry, and by two brothers, Claude E. Peckham and John H. Peckham of Poplar Ridge. Funeral services will he held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the family home in King Ferry. Burial will be made in the Village Cemetery.
