BAMBERG - William Herbert Craven, 71, died Thursday in a Bamberg hospital.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at the Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in South End Cemetery.
Mr. Craven was born in Marion, a son of the late William J. and Mrs. Annie J. Wall Craven. He was a retired county agent and Clemson University Extension Specialist. He graduated from Clemson in 1925, taught agriculture in Dillon and was named SC Master Teacher in 1928. He served on the Bamberg School Board for a number of years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bamberg.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alberta Stack Craven of Bamberg; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Ann Poteat of Greenville; a son, William H. Craven Jr. of Waynesboro, Ga.; a sister, Mrs. C. M. Powe of Harrisville; a brother, W. Boyce Craven of Fair Bluff, N.C.
