William (Will) Euther Melton
1893 thru 1983

Mr. Melton, a retired farmer, died Saturday night at Jackson's Parkway Hospital after a short illness.

He was born on February 10, 1893 in Jack's Creek; the son of Hiram Joseph "Joe" Melton and Fronnie Elizabeth Lee Melton. On December 19, 1912 he married Myrtle Mae Ross. To this union was born two boys (Edmond & Berlon) and one girl (Julia).

Mr. Melton was a Methodist, and leader of the Rosebuds Quartet at Rosewood Gardens for several years. A good neighbor, willing to help all that he could. He loved singing and music. One of his favorite songs, "When I Wake Up To Sleep No More" was sung at the funeral service.

He leaves his wife Myrtle Mae Ross Melton; one son, Berlon Melton of Medon; one brother, Joe Melton of Henderson; seven grandchildren (Harold, Barbara & Debbie Melton; Don, Jerry & Penny Flanagan; Carolyn Melton) and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Will Euther Melton, 90, were today at Palestine Cemetery near Lexington with the Rev. Elton Baker officiating. Pafford Funeral Home of Lexington was in charge.

He was a Chester County native and was a longtime resident of Medon and Jackson, TN. He was also a member of Nebo Methodist Church in Henderson County, TN.
