Tillie Stettnichs, 95, of Rock Rapids died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital, Rock Rapids.
Services were Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, Alvord, with interment in the church cemetery.
Tillie Bramstedt was born Dec. 7, 1908, at Inwood, the daughter of Henry and Adelia (Schemmel) Bramstedt. She attended country school in the Alvord area and graduated from Alvord High School in 1926.
On March 25, 1937, she married Freddie Stettnichs in Alvord. They lived in Alvord and she worked as custodian at Alvord Community Schools.
Her husband died March 13, 1965. For the past three years, she lived at Premier Estates in Rock Rapids, later becoming a resident of Rock Rapids Health Centre.
She was a 64-year member of American Legion Auxiliary, serving as an officer within the Alvord unit and at district and county levels.
She was a member of Bethany Circle at Christ Lutheran Church and active in Alvord Senior Citizens.
Survivors include two brothers, Henry of Harrisburg, S.D., and Edward of Alvord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and four sisters.
