Funeral services for John Stich, 85, of Glen Carbon, who died yesterday there at 4:30 p.m. of old age and complications, will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the residence of Mrs. Lydia Primas in Glen Carbon followed by services at the St. Cecilia Church at 2 o'clock. Rev. C.A. O'Reilly will have charge. Burial will be in the Buck Road Cemetery. The body will be at the Straube Funeral Home until noon on Thursday.
Mr. Stich was born February 28, 1849, in Bohemia. He came to America a the age of three and a half years with his parents, living for some time at Columbia, Ill. He came to Edwardsville 55 years ago, where he was a merchant. He retired in 1924. Mr. Stich was a member of the Knights of Pythias and of the Redmen. His wife, Mrs. Barbara Sebon Stich preceded him in death. He leaves five daughters, Mrs. David McDaid, Detroit; Mrs. Harry Brendle, Mrs. Edward Schlemer, of Edwardsville; Mrs. Lydia Primas of Glen Carbon; Mrs. William Tau of Collinsville and 13 grandchildren.
