Henry passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Patty) Shirley on Brooklyn Street in the Village of Portville, NY at age 68 after a brief illness. He was raised in Portville, ventured west where he was engaged in lumbering and Railroading. Later he resided in the south for several years before returning to Portville where he was employed by the Dairy Products Company. Henry was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Portville for over 30 years and had just served as Noble Grand of the Lodge. He was also a member of the Patriarchal Odd Fellows, where he had served as Chief Patriarch. During the past year he had been a member of the District Deputy Patriarch's staff in this district. At the time of his death he was survived by his wife, Lucy A. (Wright) Hinman; Two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Shirley of Portville and Mrs. Ethel Bell of Salamanca, NY; One son, Randall Hinman of Mt. Jewett, PA; Two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Sikes of Portville and Mrs. William Andrews of Rochester, NY along with five grandchildren. The funeral was held at the Portville Methodist Church on February 28, 1934.
