Mrs. Clara Pryde of Boyden was born May 12, 1873 and passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Herman Meester, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the age of 68 years, 9 mos. and 10 days following a stroke.
Clara Westra was born in Friesland, The Netherlands and came to this country at the age of 8 years. She first lived in Orange City and then in Boyden which was 48 years ago.
She was united in marriage to John C. Pryde on July 4, 1898 who preceded her in death May 27, 1927.
Those who survive her are her two children J. Morris Pryde of Chicago, Ill. and Ethel, Mrs. Herman Meester of Boyden, three grandchildren Marion Meester of Boyden, Jack and Lois Pryde of Chicago. Three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Dora Terpstra of Bernis, S. D., Mrs. H. J. Zeutenhorst of Sioux Center and Mrs. Tillie Bonnema of Hawarden and Gerrit Westra of Chicago.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and 2 o'clock at the United Presbyterian church with Rev. L.M. Barnes officiating. Interment was made in the Boyden cemetery.
