Funeral services for Charles A. Holland, 63, of Pocahontas Road and a lifetime Sumpter and Baker county resident, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Grays West and Company Pioneer Chapel. The Reverend James W. Shaver of the first Christian church in Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Holland died Saturday morning at St. Elizabeth community Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born Feb. 22, 1912 in Sumpter, the son of J.P. and N. Wilder Campbell Holland. He had his schooling at McEwen and was married to Wanda Shelton Holland in Baker on August 18, 1933. He was a rancher and farmer in Sumpter Valley and he worked for the Sumpter Valley gold dredge. He had resided his entire lifetime in Sumpter Valley until 1966 when he moved to his ranch on Pocahontas Road. He had also worked as a logger in Baker County.

He is survived by his wife Wanda (Bonnie), at home; one brother, John Holland of Beaverton, Ore.; one sister, Elizabeth Izatt of Baker and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Wellington Holland in 1973.
