Mr Walter Henry Burks, Dec 16, 1973 died suddenly at residence 1844 Oliver Ave.

Beloved husband of Velma Idell Burks; father of Mrs Evelyn Rodenbach of Kansas City, Kansas, Mr Grady C Burks of Memphis, Mr Donald E Burks of Edenton NC and Mrs Sue Acred of Memphis. He also leaves two granddaughters whom he raised, Mrs Betty McLaughlin of Pontotoc Miss and Mrs Mavis Ferrante of Memphis. Mr Carl Bright a grandson who resided with him and six other grandchildren.

Mr Burks was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the former music director of the fellowship class. He was a member of the Masonic Temple at Simcoe, Ala and was laid to rest on Dec 18 at Center Grove Baptist Church, Cullman AL.

Mr Burks left two brothers, Mr Jeffery Burks of Phoenix Ariz and Mr Criss Burks of Cullman AL; one sister, Mrs Virgil Sizemore of Fairview AL and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Mr Burks had worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co for 31 years. Mr Burks was 59.
