EDGAR STAGGS

MARSHALL – Edgar Staggs, 90, Marshall, a life resident and long time farmer in the Marshall-Waveland area, died Sunday at Stafford Spring, Conn., where he was visiting.

Born July 26, 1886, in Parke County, he was a son of Samuel and Sally Yount Staggs. He was a member of Wesleyan United Methodist Church.

Surviving are the widow, Esther of Sarasota, Fla., two daughters, Mrs. William (Arloene Lavon) Leagreen of Marshall and Mrs. Elnora May Carpenter of Bradenton, Fla; a sister, Grace Staggs of Marion; a brother, Tom of Cates; two grandsons and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Machledt & Servies Funeral Home at Waveland. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
