Anthony J. "Tony" Amoroso, a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather, died at 12:40 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 67 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was one of the founding elders of Christian Life Fellowship. He was an international director of Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship. He was active in the Baton Rouge business community for more than 40 years. He was the owner of Prime Properties and Camper Village.

Survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Hidalgo Amoroso; mother, Annie Martrain Amoroso, Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Denise Amoroso, Baton Rouge; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Vickie and Harold Keith, Katy, Texas, Jo Ann Amoroso, Lori and David Planchard, and Mary Pat and Trent Thevenot, all of Baton Rouge; two foster daughters, Sonya Mumphrey, Hammond, and Tonya Mumphrey, Houston; two brothers, Jerry and Ronnie Amoroso, both of Baton Rouge; a sister-in-law, Alice Amoroso; and 11 grandchildren, Ryan Keith, Braden Keith, Rachel Harrer, Elaine Amoroso, Mikey Ann Amoroso, Joey Amoroso, Natalie Planchard, Kyle Planchard, John Paul Thevenot, Jacob Thevenot and Ann Marie Thevenot.

Preceded in death by his father, T.J. "Tony" Amoroso; and a brother, Nick Amoroso.

His greatest joy was serving Jesus. He loved his family and friends.

The family offers special thanks to Dr. Richard Byrd, Dr. Charles Thompson, Dr. Peter Bostick, Dr. Kirk Mullens, Dr. Judd Patton and all the staff at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
