Carl L. Ruhl, son of Franklin Everett and Zepha Adams Ruhl, was born February 6, 1914 in Webster City. He served in the Iowa National Guard and was supervisor at Martin Aircraft Plant, building bombers during World War II. He was a farmer in Stonega-Blairsburg community for over thirty years, a Hamilton County Supervisor and a Township Trustee. He drove school bus for the Webster City School District, was on the school board, school council, and a 4-H Dairy Superintendent. He was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ where he served as a council member.
Mr. Ruhl is survived by his wife of 72 years, Gwyn Latch Ruhl; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Connie Ruhl; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Lyke Hawkins, all of Dardanelle, AR.; grandchildren, Karla and Charlie McCool; Rhonda and Ron Jackson; Christine Ruhl; Nath Ruhl; Mike Ruhl and J. R. Ruhl; great-grandchildren, Karlee and Seth Lagergren; Aaron Hetland; Emily and Jonathan Ruhl; Jacob Hedeen; Lacy McConnell and great-great grandchildren, Naomi and Laylah Lagergren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Rodney Ruhl; grandson, Jeff Hetland; brothers, Dee, Melvin, Everett and Bill Ruhl and a sister, Delores Ruhl Bickford.
