Franklin "Gene" was born November 24,1884 in Segwick,Kansas.He was the son of Ermwn G.Ruhl and Margaret Adelaid Redman 'Addie'.He had one brother Orin D. Ruhl,Zella Pearl (Garrett),Oral Pete Ruhl,and three half brothers Orville Aquilla Conway,Archie Leo Conway, Otto Redman Conway.
Gene was raised and educated in Major County,Oklahoma.
He married Zeffie Birdie Adams on January 20,1908 at 3:30 in the afternoon.She was 14 and he was 23.The couple moved from Oklahoma to Webster City,Iowa in 1911.Gene and Zeffie had seven children Dee,Melvin,Carl,Franklin,Evertt,Dolores and William.
Gene registered for the WW1 draft on September 12,1918 at the age of 33 in Webster City,Iowa. Gene also registered for the draft in WWll on April 27,1942 at the age of 57.Both records show Gene was 6'tall,abt 160lbs.lived in the same home 323 Tird in Webster City,Iowa.No Telephone
Gene made a living farming.He ran a steam engine during thrashing timesat the Ed Doolittle's farm for eight years. He was also employed ClayProduct Co. North Seneca in Webster City and by the former Hart-Carter Sieve Factory for many years and retired due to ill health.

The couple celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on At 3:30 in the afternoon of January 20,1983 at the Southfeild Care Center in Webster City.more then 50 family members and freinds attened the celebration.They had received a congratulatory card from President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan that they were both very proud of.
The couple had lived in the care center since 1978.

At the time of his death Gene was survived by his wife Zeffie;two sons Carl Ruhl of Webster City,Iowa ,William Ruhl of Bloomington,Minn. and a daughter Dolores Bickford of Webster City;17 grandchildren;37 great grand-children;11 great-great grandchildren.One brother Otto Conway of Wynoka.Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ermen Ruhl and Margaret "Addie" Redman Ruhl Conway.Four brothers and one sister;three sons and a grandson.
He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
