Rice Harris "R.H." Cooper, 83, passed away September 15, 1996 in a Vernon hospital after a brief illness. He was born March 27, 1909 in Crowell, Texas to Rob H. and Mary Belle Crews Cooper. He passed away September 15, 1996 in Vernon, Texas. He married the former Axie Doty on July 21, 1928 in Rayland, Texas and she preceded him in death October 8, 1990. R.H. was a farmer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by one son, Robert H. Cooper of Carrollton, Texas; and one daughter, Jane Cooper Carlton of Thalia; one sister, Peggy Myers of Crowell; 4 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Interment was in Wilbarger Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Randall Hughes, Rob H. Cooper, Marshall Matay, Billy Rob Dedek, Jim Brown and Mike Sanders.
