Sharon Jane Cooper Carlton, 84, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019. She was the daughter of Rice Harris "R.H." and Axie Doty Cooper. She married Keith Carlton Jan. 21 1977 in Dallas. Jane was a country girl who loved her farm. She knew every inch of her place and kept it immaculate. She was a talented artist and was a co-author of the book "Thalia Pioneers and Descendants." She dedicated thousands of hours to projects to improve her hometown of Thalia, Texas restoring the cemetery and creating Thalia Memorial Park. She was a charter member of the Vernon Art League and a member of the Western Trails Cowboy Church. She was a beautiful person who always left everything better than she found it. She is survived by her husband Keith Carlton of Thalia; daughter Kim Hughes Jones of Rockport, Texas; son Randall Hughes & wife Sheri of Rowlett, Texas; grandchildren Jake Jones, Lindsey Hughes Burleson, Ryan Hughes and Hannah Hughes and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Robert Cooper and her first husband, Jim Hughes.
