Dennis Boyd -----1931-2005
Dennis Reed Boyd was born March 10, 1931 in Phillipsburg to Frank and Bernice Reed Boyd. He passed away April 27, 2006 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg at the age of 74.
He attended the Speed Grade School and Phillipsburg High School. Dennis then served in the U.S. Navy as a Navy Sea Bee in Korea during the Korean conflict from Dec. 19, 1950 through Oct. 4, 1954.
After his honorable discharge he returned to Speed to work as a heavy equipment operator and later, he had his own custom combining business.
He was a lifetime member of the Phillipsburg VFW.
Dennis was preceded in deathby his parents, Frank and Bernice, an two brothers, Frank Jr. and Billy.
Survivors include one sister* of Glade, one sister-in-law, Gerry Boyd of Olathe; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Saturday, April 30, at 10 a.m. at Pleasent View Cemetery, Logan, Kansas. His pastor officiating*.
Taped music was "Under His Wings", provided by a grand nephew*.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Logan Manor Nursing Home.
