Lee Darrel La Marr was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Edward and Thelma (Hutton) La Marr on March 21, 1928. He was raised in Tulsa and Pauls Valley and attended Pauls Valley High School. He proudly served overseas in the Army during the Korean Conflict from September 29, 1950 to September 12, 1952. He married Jessie Vanderpool on August 22, 1954. This marriage was blessed with three children; Jackie, Rocky and Jennifer. They moved to south Oklahoma City where he received his G.E.D. and then attended night school at Oklahoma City College for training in Aviation Electronics. He used the GI Bill to further his education. He found a job as a television repairman, than was able to use his Aviation Electronics training when he went to work at Will Rogers Airport. His favorite job that he kept for over 20 years was a Radio Mechanic at Downtown Airpark, using the skills he had as an excellent mechanic. He then worked at the GM Assembly Plant from 1980 to 1993. He retired from General Motors and moved to Cordell, Oklahoma, to be closer to his family. He loved his country and passed on that patriotic spirit to his family. He enjoyed a healthy lifestyle full of camping and hiking and was able to share those experiences with his immediate and extended family. His family was his pride and joy. He was a hard worker and had a generous heart towards his family. He loved spending time with his family, immediate and extended. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Thelma La Marr and his brother, Lloyd La Marr. He is survived by his sister, Winnie Lou Hambleton of Honey Grove, TX; sister-in-law, Doris La Marr of Magnolia, TX; daughter, Jackie and husband Darrel Branson of Weatherford, OK; son, Rocky and wife Kelly La Marr of Madill, OK; daughter, Jennifer Wedel of Clinton, OK; grandchildren, Justin and Malinda Branson of Weatherford, OK; Kelsie Branson of San Antonio, TX; Jessica and husband Scotty Walton and their daughter Mallory (his only great grandchild) of Woodward, OK; Evan La Marr of South Florida; Meredith and Andrew Wade of Grandview, MO; Jared and Alyssa Wedel of Cordell, OK; Jake Wedel of Cordell, OK and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Lee will be held at 2pm, Friday, August 17, 2012 in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service, Midwest City, OK with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK.
