Mark Rockford La Marr, 58, transitioned from life on earth into eternity on Saturday November 12th in Edmond, Oklahoma. We feel the loss, but rejoice with him as he receives the greatest gain, forever with the Father.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 16 at 4:00 pm at Crawford Funeral Home, 610 NW 178th, Edmond, OK 73012.

Rocky as everyone fondly knew him by, was passionate about his faith, crazy about his wife of 31 years, and incredibly proud of his children and grandchild. We were blessed to learn many important lessons from Rocky during his 58 years, among them: to see the truth in the matter, and not just the emotions of it, change the oil in a car, make a fire, recognize the beauty in nature, see that life was worth considering and your passion worth pursuing, find value in commitment to relationships, and learn how to make the best cup of coffee.

Life for Rocky wasn’t just a journey--it was an adventure, one he lived to the fullest. He loved everything to do with music, the taste of great coffee, and the sounds of nature. He was a lover of life and of people.

Rocky was born in Oklahoma City on October 11, 1958 on a crisp fall night. He attended Western Heights High School (Oklahoma City). He married the love of his life, Kelley Evans, on December 15, 1984 in Alfalfa, Oklahoma. Rocky received two bachelor’s degree (Psychology and Music Education) at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, followed by a Masters in Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

He didn’t hesitate to take a new opportunity, and most recently worked as a Business Analyst at Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System, and was pursuing coffee roasting and teaching vocal lessons.

Rocky is preceded in death by his dad, Lee La Marr.

Rocky is survived by his wife, Kelley La Marr: son, Evan La Marr (Ashley), daughter, Meredith Wade (Andrew): mother, Jessie Vanderpool, sisters, Jackie Branson (Darrel), Jennifer Daubenspeck (Jamie): grandson, Judah.

Our deepest heartfelt gratitude for every individual, every word, every hug, every act of service, every expression of love and concern, and every prayer. Thank you to family, friends, and acquaintances. It means more than we knew it ever could.
