Dr. John William McCraney, Jr. of Marietta, GA. passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2007. A native of West Point, GA. Dr. McCraney graduated from Riverside Military Academy and Auburn University in Civil Engineering. After several years in Industrial Construction he joined Batson Cook Company of Atlanta and Tampa, Florida as Vice President. In 1991, he retired from construction to pursue a career in public health by receiving a Masters in Public Health, an MBA and a Doctoral Degree in Public Health at The University of South Florida. He is the son of the late John William McCraney of Columbus, GA. and India Lurline (Hargett) Smollen of Opelika, AL. Graveside services to be conducted at Green Lawn Cemetery Roswell, GA. on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 1:00 PM.
