MRS. OLE AAMODT former resident of Lake Mills died at Williston, North Dakota, March 20, 1940.
Her body was sent to Lake Mills for funeral services, which were held from Salem Lutheran Church Monday. Burial was in the Family lot in Salem Cemetery. Ingeborg Mostoyl was born March 8, 1857 at Mo, Telemark, Norway. She was baptized and confirmed there in the Christian faith. In 1884 she was united in marriage with Ole G. Aamodt. The Aamodts immigrated to America in 1891, coming to Kensett, Iowa. In 1893 they moved to a Farm three miles south of Lake Mills. Mr. Aamodt died November 30, 1902 and the responsibility of caring for a large family was placed on Mrs. Aamodt. She accepted her task with a Christian faith and courage and succeeded not only in giving her children adequate physical care, but above all, she became, for them, a living witness of the beauty, strength, and suffering of the grace of God in Christ. In 1910, Mrs. Aamodt went to McKenzie County, North Dakota and proved a homestead. Here she lived until her death, except for a period of five years spent in Lake Mills for the purpose of giving her children the advantages of a high school education. Three daughters and one son preceded her in death. The surviving children are under of Seattle, Washington; Knut of Williston, North Dakota; Anund of Alexander, North Dakota; Mrs Diedrick (Malla) Iverson and Mrs. Axel (Lillie) Jermiason of Alexander, North Dakota; and Oscar of Joice.
