Obituary
Gunder Aamodt, 85, a pioneer McKenzie County homesteader and former McKenzie County treasurer died Tuesday in a local hospital. His funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the Everson Funeral Home with Rev Carl G. Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. Mr. Aamodt was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Gunder Aamodt was born November 24 1885 in Mo, Telemarken, Norway, to Ole and Ingeborg Aamodt. When he was six years old he came with his family to Joice, Iowa where he grew up. In 1909 he homesteaded in Elk Twp. McKenzie County. He lived four years in Schaefer, N.D., while serving as McKenzie County treasurer and a few years in Seattle.
The past 14 years he has lived here (Williston). He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Dedrick (Malla) Iverson, Williston; three brothers, Anund and Knudt, both of Williston, and Oscar, Northwood, Iowa.
