Final rites were said for Mrs. Arthur Alford Saturday afternoon at the Union Baptist Church.... Mrs. Alford is the former Margaret Louise Martin.
Mrs. Alford was born in old Pike county Sept 24, 1903, the daughter of F.M. Martin and Mary Rushing Martin. She has lived in this county her entire life.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur L. Alford and six children: Thomas Alford, Mrs. Ray Thornhill, Travis Alford, Kokomo; Hulon Alford, Independence, La; Dan Alford, Kokomo; Mrs. Joe Ladner; five brothers: Kelly Martin, Morris Martin, Clydie Martin, Percy Martin, Victor Martin; one sister, Mrs. James Duncan; 17 grandchildren and one great–grandchild.
Pallbearers were her nephews: Olin Duncan, Alcus Martin, Marshall Martin, Austin Martin, W.K. Martin and Leroy Martin.
Interment was in Tylertown cemetery with Ginn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
