Funeral services for Mr. Heuland Alford, 86, will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at Capps Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Green officiating. Burial in Magee’s Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Alford passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his residence in Tylertown, Mississippi. He was born January 21, 1929 in Walthall County, Mississippi to the late Arthur Levi and Mary Margaret Martin Alford. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers Thomas Alford and Travis Alford; and sister Martha Ann Ladner.
He was a member of Magee’s Creek Baptist Church and had worked in construction. Mr. Alford was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening and working in the yard.
Survivors include his son Greg Alford of Brookhaven; daughter Sherry Lynn Hartley and devoted son-in-law Jack Hartley of Jayess; brother Dan Alford of Darbun Community; sister Mary Thornhill of Tylertown; grandchildren Michael (Amy) Alford, Kristy Alford, Kelly (Glen) Wilson, Sabrina (Clifton)Scoggins, Maria (Clifton) Johnson, and Selina (Ricky) Odom; great-grandchildren Haley and Brooke Alford; Karim and Shamshan Saleh; Madison, Austin, and Davin Lenoir; Chase and Chasity Wilson; Ansleigh, Brayden, CJ, Destiny, and Wyatt Johnson; Zachery, Bryce, and Jasmine Odom; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Fuller, Billy Wayne Thornhill, Hash Saleh, Glen Wilson, Chase Wilson, and Mike.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Hartley.
Visitation will be at Capps Funeral Home on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Capps Funeral Home of Tylertown, Mississippi is in charge of arrangements.
