Final Trubute Paid Memory N. H. Eggleston

Final tribute was paid the memory of an old and honored resident of the county when on Friday after The remains of Zn. H. Eggleston were committed to their last resting place in the Denton Creek cemetery.
A brief service was held at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. M. D. Low at Denton Credk where he made his home.
Conducting the services bother there and at the cemetery where the main service was held, was Rev. R. E. Dunham, pastor of Unity Baptist church, of which Mr. Eggleston had been a member for 69 years, having formerly belonged to the Baptist church in Guadalupe community, which was later merged with the Maurin church forming Unity. Mr. Eggleston was the oldest member of that congregation.
Rev. Mr. Dunham gave a brief summary of his life in the course of the service, paying his memory a fine tribute.
Old time favorite hymns were rendered during the service, among them "Come Thou Fount of Ever Blessing, " a particular favorite of Mr. Eggleston's.
The acting pallbearers were G. C. Johnson, S. F. Willard, E. L. Walters, A. E. and B. A. Floyd. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family.
Numbers of beautiful floral tributes made fair his last resting place, tokens of love and esteem for a venerated and noble citizen, and of sympathy for the loved ones. Among the special tributes were beautiful offerings from the Zunity chandler the Senior B.Y.P.U., of Unity.
The funeral was largely attended, many coming to honor his memory.belonging to a pioneer family, Mr. Eggleston was born in Gonzales and had spent his entire life of over 80 years in this county.
He was a citizen loved and honored by all who knew him and his long and noble Christian life of service is a splendid heritage to his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
"Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee the crown of life."

This section of the county lost one of its oldest residents in the passing of N. H. Eggleston. He had made his home here for the past 12 years. He is survived by five children , all of them were here for the funeral except one.

Venerable Resident of County Passes at Denton Creek

Another old and highly esteemed citizen of the county answered the final summons when Newton Howard Eggleston, venerable resident of Denton Creek section, died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Milton Low, of Denton Creek, passing away at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.
While Mr. Eggleston was feeble he had not been seriously I'll. He experienced a heart attack the day before.
