Ellis -- Josephine Augustine, 85, died Sunday May 19 at St. Joseph Hospital, Larned. She was born May 4, 1900 in Bukowena, Austria, to Joseph and Catherine (Flax) Honas.

She married Ambrose Augustine Oct. 18, 1921 in Ellis; he died Feb. 10, 1976.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.

Survivors include a son, Dennis, Larned; three brothers, Bill and John Honas, Pocatelio, Idaho; seven sisters, Regina Tauscher, Caroline Seidel, Clara Novis and Rose Riedle, all of Pocatello, Elizabeth Govert, Wichita, Bertha Flax, Ellis, and Frances Thesing, WaKeeney; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis, with Father Paulinus Karlin officiating; burial in the church cemetery. A parish rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wasinger Funeral Home. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Wasinger.
