Frederick "Fred" Agee was the son of Benjamin Coats and Sarah Elizabeth Lady Agee of Douglas County, OR.

He married Annie Laura Kent, daughter of Isaac Carnahan Kent and Olive Belle "Ollie" Kitterman, on 20 December 1914 at Roseburg, Douglas County, Oregon.

They had the following children: Olive Elizabeth "Betty" (Sheldon), Avis Athalie "Peggy" (Knaggs), Harold LeRoy and Ronald Fredrick.

He appeared on the 1920 Douglas County, OR census.
