KNAGGS, Avis A "Peggy" - 83 of Roseburg,Oregon passed away March 29, 2001 at a local foster care home. She was born Avis Athalie Agee, March 8, 1918 in Roseburg to Fred and Annie Laurie (Kent) Agee, the second of four children. She was known to all of her family and friends as Peggy.

She was a life long resident of Roseburg and graduated from Roseburg High School in 1937. Peggy married William "Bill" Russell Knaggs on January 12, 1941 in Roseburg. They raised a son and daughter. She was very involved with her children's activities, serving as a 4H Leader, Cub Scout Leader, Blue Bird Leader and P.T.A member. Peggy was active in County Home Extension Programs and taught knitting and sewing to adults and the handicapped. She looked forward to the monthly luncheons with her lady friends from the 1937 graduating class of Roseburg High School.

Peggy and her husband Bill were involved with Oregon Mr. Long Ears, the Umpqua Harness Driving Club and the Special Olympics Equestrian Program. Peggy is remembered as a good mother, a loving grandmother, a very spunky and caring lady, she believed in total involvement with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Peggy is survived by her brother Ron Agee of Roseburg, son Larrie R. and wife Fran Knaggs of Goldendale, Washington, daughter Nancy and husband Rick Helmboldt of Roseburg, grandchildren: Tami Kennedy, Tina Virture, Kent Knaggs, Keri Croft and Ryan Helmboldt, great grandchildren: Lexi and Amanda Kennedy, Taylor and Cameron Knaggs, Bryce Croft and Kyler Helmboldt, many nieces and nephews, loving care providers Bob and Cecilia Losacco of Walk With Me foster care home and her friends at the foster home.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Knaggs, a sister Betty Sheldon of Prineville, a brother Harold Agee of Roseburg and her parents.Cremation rites have been held.
