Dorcas Ann Bailey, 90, of Lovington died at 1:19 a.m. Saturday February 11, 2012, at Aspen Creek, Sullivan. Private graveside services will be held at Keller Cemetery, Lovington, with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Dorcas Ann was born on November 6, 1921, in Lovington, the daughter of John S. and Clara May (Davis) Devine. She married John H. Bailey II on March 4, 1939; he died May 29, 2010. Survivors include: son, John H. Bailey III; daughters Jill Bailey Landers and husband Charles Landers, Gretchen Morrison and husband Will Morrison, Marcia Farmer, eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Dorcas Ann was the devoted wife of seventy years to her husband, John H. Bailey II. For most of her life, she was dedicated to her husband's welfare by supporting his passion for raising prize-winning Hereford cattle and helping with the farming enterprise. During many of her early family years, she admired John and her children showing cattle at county and state fairs. A few of her favorite pastimes were dinner and dancing with husband John and following her favorite college basketball team, the Fighting Illini. Memorials may be made to Lincoln Land Hospice, 1004 Health Center Drive, Suite 202, Mattoon, IL 61938.
