GALESBURG - Janet E. Hawkinson, 89, of 633 Willard St. died at 7:56 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at the home of her son Chuck at 1577 S. Seminary St.

Born Jan. 27, 1914, in Galesburg to Clarence E. and Esther Larson Johnson. She married K. Stuart Hawkinson on Oct. 2, 1934, in Galesburg. He died March 1, 1999.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (and Phyllis) and Charles (and Priscilla), both of Galesburg; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Katherine M. Johnson, Galesburg.

A graduate of Brown's Business College, she worked at Goodyear and in the business office of Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She was a member of Knox County Republican Women.

A member of Covenant Church in Galesburg, the Covenant Women and the choir, she also was a deaconess and Sunday school teacher.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at her church. The Rev. Tom Ek will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 tonight at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
