Adelaide D. "Adey" Haner, 92, longtime resident of Minot, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in a Minot nursing home.

Adelaide was born January 11, 1916 at Fortuna, ND the daughter of William and Mary (Sanderson) Gilday. She lived in Fortuna until age eight, when the family moved to Foxholm, ND. She graduated from Foxholm High School in 1934.

Upon graduation she moved to Minot and attended Peggy's Beauty School and subsequently was employed as a cosmetologist for five years. She attended Minot Business College for a short time. She then was employed at Black Drug and later White Drug where she was manager of the cosmetic department for 20 years and their office manager for four years.

She married Oscar Haner on July 31, 1955. He was a rural mail carrier for 45 years. He died in December of 1979. After her husbands death, Adey's mother lived with her until her death in 1987.

Adey was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot, where she was a volunteer in various church related activities. She was a member of the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens League and the Elks.

Those who shared in her life, Sister, Marian (Elmer) Gorde, Minot; brother, Daniel (Marilyn) Gilday, Velva; stepdaughters, Betty (Wayne) Stewart, Minot and JoAnn (Denny) Decker of South Dakota; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Adey was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral: Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation and vigil prayer service: Visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the vigil prayer service at 7:00 p.m. all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
