Lloyd was an identical twin of Leland and was born to Jacob S. Chupp and Wanda Irene Toliver. He had an older brother and two older sisters and 1 younger sister. One older sister preceded him in death at 15 years old. His older brother preceded him in death in 1960. Lloyd married Bertha Bainter (daughter of John and Ella (Strycker) Bainter) on September 23, 1941 in Auburn. They had two sons:

Lloyd preceded his identical twin brother Leland in death. He preceded his wife in death. His funeral was held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home in Goshen Indiana.
