Josephine Edna Thatcher Archibald, age 92, passed away on September 29, 2007 at Greenwood Manor. She was born September 13, 1915 in College Ward, UT to Orson Pratt Thatcher and Nettie Elizabeth Reeder Thatcher. Jo and her twin, Margarett, were the youngest of a family of seven children, the oldest of which were also twins. Jo and Marion Wilson Archibald were married on January 20, 1936 in Denver, CO, and were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 20, 1948.

She and Marion loved serving in the LDS Church, especially as temple workers in the Provo and Mt. Timpanogos Temples, and serving a mission together in Minnesota from 1979-1981. Josephine lived her religion, and had a strong and abiding faith in God. She was small in stature, but very strong in spirit; her daughters would describe her as spunky. She loved all flowers, especially pink roses. She was a loving wife, mother, friend, grandmother, and visiting teacher, and was seen walking and talking in her neighborhood every day until she was 89.

Josephine is survived by Lee T. (May) Archibald, Linda Rae (Bill) Kirshner, Kathy (Paul) Wright, Margaret (John) Nielsen; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held Sat. October 6, 2007 at 12 noon at the American Fork 12th Ward, 300 N. 690 E. A viewing will be held Fri. October 5, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 100 N. 49 E. in American Fork, and Sat. prior to the funeral services from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the American Fork 12th Ward.

A special thanks to the American Fork 12th Ward and to the staff at Greenwood Manor for their loving and patient care. Online condolences may be sent to andersonmortuary.com
