BRIGHAM CITY - Our beloved mother, Ruth Ellen Thatcher Vigh, passed away Monday, September 16, 1996 at Godfrey's Foothill Retreat of natural causes. Ruth was born May 5, 1911 in College Ward, Cache, Utah, the daughter of Orson Pratt Thatcher and Nettie Reeder Thatcher. She married Lorenzo T. Vigh on November 27, 1930. He passed away on October 4, 1966.
She was an active member of the LDS Church and enjoyed family might, Relief Society and church services at the nursing home.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo; brothers: Reed, Ray and Phillip Thatcher; sister, Virginia Thatcher; grand-daughter, Shawna Seeley; and grandson, Nathaniel Wilson.
She is survived by eight sons and daughters: Ellen (LaVan) Henderson, Rupert, Idaho; Lorenzo Y. (Judy) Vigh, Burley, Idaho; Paul (Marlene) Vigh, Sunset, Utah; Noal T. (Eleanor) Vigh, Naperville, Illinois; Nettie (Garold) Salmon, Brigham City, Utah; Kenneth T. (Kathy) Vigh, Taylorsville, Utah; Mary (Jenson) Brian, Sandy, Utah; Sandra (Wade) Wilson, Palmdale, California; 32 grandchildren and 38, great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters: Margaret McGary, Provo, Utah, and Josephine Archibald of American Fork, Utah.
She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 20, :1996 at Olsen-Myers Mortuary, 1105 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah. Family and friends may call at the mortuary from 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. in the Logan Cemetery, 12th East and 9th North, Logan, Utah.
