Albert Ray Charlton, 77, of West Weber, died Sunday at the Weber Memorial Hospital in Roy of causes incident to age.

Mr. Charlton was born August 7, 1890 in West Weber, a son of Edward C. and Alice Etherington Charlton.

On March 29, 1911, he was married to Nettie Hogge in Salt Lake City.

He lived in the Ogden area most of his life.

He had worked as a machinist foreman for the Amalgamated Sugar Co. and at Utah General Depot prior to retiring.

He was a high priest in the West Weber LDS Ward and had been a ward teacher, high priest group leader and chairman of the old folks committee. He was a former member of the Weber County Farm Bureau.

Survivng are his widow, the following sons and daughters: Norvel R. Charlton, George E. Charlton, Larry H. Charlton, Mrs. Vic (Mae) Adams, Mrs. Jay (Elda) Hadley, all of Ogden; John A. Charlton, Placentia, Calif.; Merrill R. Charlton, Norwalk, Calif.; Mrs. Clarence (Arvilla) Bingham, Great Falls, Mont.; Mrs. Earl (Genett) Munson, Weed, Calif.; Mrs. Delour (Laura) Ekins, Orange, Calif.; Mrs. Don (Anna Beth) Gardiner, Berkeley Heights, N.J.; 36 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Parley (Sarah) Marriott, Mrs. Sterling (Francis) Thompson, Mrs. Rulan Louise) Hadfield, all of Ogden, Mrs. Charles (Alice) Proses, Las Vegas, Nev.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel with Bishop Boyd Hancock officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday until services. Burial in the West Weber Cemetery.
