EARLY CITIZEN OF COUNTY DIES
Edward Calvert Charlton Funeral Will be Held Sunday

Edward Calvert Charlton, 70, died Thursday evening at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. Parley Marriott in Warren. He was born August 8, 1864 in England, a son of Edward and Elizabeth Calvert Charlton. he came to Utah with his parents at the age of 10 years, residing in Weber county since that time.

IN WARD AFFAIRS

He married Francis A. Etherington on November 28, 1884, in Logan, who died March 8, 1923 in Ogden. He was a member of the Seventies of the L.D.S. church and active in ward dramatics as well as musical work. he had served as a justice of the peace in West Weber. He was know as a farmer in West Weber, Wilson and Ogden vicinity. He is survived by the following sons and daughters: Thomas E. Charlton and A. Ray Charlton of West Weber; Adfred E. Charlton of Plain City; Mrs. Parley Marriott of Warren; Mrs. Sterling Thompson of Plain City; Mrs. Charles Proses of San Francisco; Mrs. Ruland Hadfield of Ogden. There are 37 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. J.A. Smith of Merced, Calif.

FOR BURIAL

Services will be held Sunday at two o'clock in West Weber chapel of the L.D.S. Church, with Bishop George A. Heslop presiding. Friends may call at Lindquist and Sons mortuary this evening and tomorrow until one o'clock when the body will be removed to the home of Mrs. Marriott in Warren, where it may be viewed until time of services. Interment will be made in Warren Cemetery.
