Daughter of Marjorie Sharkey & Merle D Coleman, wife of Robert M Constable

HANNIBAL - Gloria J. Constable, 62, of Hannibal, died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at her home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 31, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Albee, officiating. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.

Gloria was born Oct. 7, 1945, in Hannibal to Merle D. and Marjorie Sharkey Coleman.

She married Robert M. Constable, March 13, 1965, in Hannibal and he survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Renee Constable, of Hannibal; one son, Scott Constable and wife Michelle, of Hannibal; three grandchildren, Cade Constable, Collin and Zachery Bracey; her father, Merle D. Coleman, of Hannibal; three brothers, Merle Coleman, of Virginia Beach, Va., Gary Coleman, and Kent Coleman and wife Susie, both of Palmyra; two sisters, Joy Archie and husband Larry, of Waldorf, Md., and Dawn Stanley of Quincy, Ill.; her mother-in-law, Delores Constable, of Hannibal; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Coleman, and her father-in-law, Fred Constable.

Gloria graduated from Palmyra High School, class of 1963. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Gloria and Bob owned Constables Paint and Wallpaper in Hannibal for 27 years. She enjoyed meeting and helping all their many customers over the years. Some became good friends. They also owned and operated the Hannibal Servicemaster for several years. Putting her family and others first was a way of life for Gloria. She was devoted to her parents and spent much of her time caring for them. She loved her flower garden, especially the hydrangeas, and enjoyed taking care of her flowers. Her loving ways and kindness were her strongest qualities and her grandson was the joy of her life. She was a true blessing to her family, friends and all who knew her.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Greg Wright, Donnie Sharkey, Mervin Sharkey, Gary Coleman, Jr., John Coleman and Chad Hoener.
