King Ferry, March 17.—Samuel C. Fessenden, a life long resident in this vicinity and one of the most prominent men in southern Cayuga, died Saturday last at his home north of this village. He was 79 years of age. The deceased was a man always ready to give assistance to those in need and had a kind word for everybody. He was for many years a member of the Presbyterian church and superintendent of the Sunday school.
The funeral services were held at his late home yesterday afternoon. Rev. Robert Ivy of this place and Rev. Mr. Baldwin of Venice were the officiating clergymen. The entire community feel the loss of one loved and respected by all.
